Welcome to my website. I’m an amateur photographer and birdwatcher based at the southern end of North Yorkshire.
My love for birds and wildlife goes back as far as I can remember, with the sight and sound of a Curlew in the Yorkshire Dales an early memory I’ll always cherish.
While many enjoy birdwatching in groups, I’m more than content watching and photographing birds on my own, savoring the peace and calm that comes with those quiet moments. I tend to keep a low profile and don’t fit the typical birdwatcher stereotype. I don’t chase rare sightings and dont spend much time in busy hides, but I’m always happy to watch and photograph whatever comes my way, wherever I happen to be.
I don't post much on social media and don’t really keep a formal life list—just a mental one— ticking off species and chasing the latest rarity isn’t something that matters to me, although I appreciate that it is an important part of bird watching for others. Simply seeing and hearing birds where I happen to wander brings me joy, and in recent years, nature has personally been a great source of healing through really some difficult times. They say that nature is a great healer. I wholeheartedly agree and I highly recommend it!
I take photos primarily for my own enjoyment and well-being, but if others find pleasure or inspiration in them, then that’s an added bonus.
Thank you for visiting!
